KEMAH — For his 10th birthday, members of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office are spreading cheer and encouraging community support for a local boy who has spent the past year undergoing cancer treatments.

Caiden, who hasn’t been able to attend school during his treatments, will be celebrated with a surprise birthday parade on Saturday, October 25. He’s known for his kind heart and dedication to helping others through his nonprofit, Caiden Cares, which donates toys and support to children in need.

Attendees are encouraged to bring Lego sets — Caiden’s favorite pastime — which will be donated to other children through his nonprofit. He’s also requested that anyone who wishes to gift something to him personally bring Legos as well.

“Caiden cares about making other kids happy,” said Deputy Megan Evans. “He’s inspired all of us to come together and celebrate his strength and generosity.”

The parade will begin at 8:30 a.m., with participants meeting on the north side of Isla Vista and S. Kemah Drive.
