LEAGUE CITY – A late-night police pursuit ended with three arrests and a secondary collision involving a patrol vehicle Friday along the South Gulf Freeway, according to League City Police.

The incident began around 11:50 p.m. on October 24, when Officer Chipres spotted a black Nissan Sentra speeding in the 1500 block of Interstate 45. Police say the driver ignored an attempted traffic stop and continued southbound into Texas City.

The vehicle exited at Holland Road and continued along the feeder before entering a single-lane construction area near FM 1764. The Nissan then lost control and veered into a grassy ditch just north of Delaney Road.

Officers reported that all three occupants fled on foot, allegedly passing a bag between them as they ran. Chipres and additional responding officers detained the suspects shortly afterward. Narcotics were recovered at the scene.

The driver, a 16-year-old male from Galena Park, was arrested on charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 2). His name was withheld due to his age.

Two passengers—Daniel Jimenez, 17, of Houston, and Maya Ruiz, 17, of Galena Park—were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance (PG 2), each receiving a $10,000 bond, and evading arrest on foot, each with a $2,500 bond.

During the response, a separate League City police officer collided with a charter bus on the feeder road near FM 1764 and Delaney Road. The bus was carrying only its driver at the time. Both the bus operator and the officer were conscious and taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the patrol vehicle crash.
