Barbers Hill shuts out Ball in dominant district victory

The Eagles rolled to a 48-0 win over Galveston Ball in a home district matchup, piling up points early and never allowing the Tornadoes to find momentum.

Quarterback Brady Barrier set the tone before exiting with an injury, throwing three touchdown passes in the first half — a 39-yard strike to Tripp Davis, a 25-yard score to Miles Spurlock, and another 25-yarder to Davis as Barbers Hill built a commanding lead. The Eagles also forced a safety to go up 9-0 in the opening quarter.

Backup quarterback Brycen Wells stepped in seamlessly, connecting with Daylon Smith for a 14-yard touchdown before halftime. The Eagles’ defense added to the pressure, as Chris Clark jumped a route for a 55-yard pick-six, stretching the advantage to 38-0 at the break.

Ball had a pair of defensive highlights — interceptions from Isaiah Washington and Jayvian Joseph — but failed to capitalize offensively.

Barbers Hill kept the shutout intact in the second half while continuing to add points. London Schick booted a 45-yard field goal, and Kolt Prater returned another interception 43 yards to the end zone to cap the scoring.

With the victory, Barbers Hill continues its district campaign with momentum, while Ball looks to reset as the season heads into its final stretch.
