Texas City Police Arrest Eight in Multi-Agency Online Child Solicitation Sting

TEXAS CITY – Police say an undercover operation targeting adults who attempt to solicit minors online has led to eight arrests and several additional warrants.

According to a press release from the Texas City Police Department, the multi-agency operation was conducted during the week of October 20 in partnership with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Officers posed as minors on various online platforms to identify potential offenders seeking inappropriate contact with children.

The operation concluded October 24. Police said all eight arrested individuals are charged with online solicitation of a minor for sexual conduct, a second-degree felony. Bond amounts varied from $75,000 to $175,000.

Those arrested include:
Marcos Belarmino Rivera-Orellana, 36, of Pasadena — $100,000 bond
Victor Rodriguez, 38, of Baytown — $150,000 bond
Huy Phi, 30, of Webster — $80,000 bond
Bruce Gonzalez, 43, of Alvin — $125,000 bond
Yonatan Perez, 36, of Houston — $75,000 bond
Ciro Urdaneta Gonzalez, 27, of Houston — $125,000 bond
Jesus Raya, 30, of Houston — $125,000 bond
Jose Saquic-Vasquez, 33, of Houston — $175,000 bond

Texas City Police said four additional warrants are pending for suspects accused of the same offense. Four of the arrested individuals also received immigration holds.

The department credited assistance from several partner agencies, including Pearland Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, Texas Department of Public Safety, Hitchcock Police Department, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, Houston Police Department and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office.

Police said these operations will continue as part of ongoing efforts to protect children across the region.
