Drugs and Weapons Seized During SWAT and Task Force Operation in La Marque

LA MARQUE – A SWAT operation at a local hotel led to multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs, weapons, and cash, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

On October 29, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force executed an arrest warrant at the Red Roof Inn, located at 5201 Gulf Freeway in La Marque. The warrant was for 38-year-old Mario Moore, wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Detectives with the Organized Crime Task Force also executed a narcotics search warrant, discovering a large quantity of illegal drugs, several firearms, and cash inside the hotel room.

Authorities reported the following items were seized:
– 106 grams of methamphetamine
– 44 grams of cocaine
– 11 grams of marijuana
– 147 grams of Xanax
– 24 grams of white pressed pills (pending lab analysis)
– 918 grams of promethazine
– 54 grams of PCP
– A stolen Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun
– A Ruger .357 revolver
– $710 in U.S. currency

Mario Moore was arrested on an active warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (penalty group 1, between 4 and 200 grams). His bond was set at $500,000.

Another suspect, Jacolbie Provost, was arrested for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (penalty group 1, between 4 and 200 grams) and possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility. His total bond was set at $300,000.
