GALVESTON — Authorities have identified the man found shot to death inside a vehicle last Saturday evening in Galveston as 29-year-old David Rodriguez of Galveston.

According to Kurt Koopmann with Galveston PD, officers were called at 6:58 p.m. to the 1700 block of Avenue N 1/2 in reference to a weapons offense with shots fired. When officers arrived, they located Rodriguez, a Hispanic male in his late 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators said no arrests have been made but confirmed that a person of interest has been developed in the case.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
