Murder Suspect Arrested in Dickinson After Tip Leads Police to Location

LA MARQUE — A suspect wanted in connection with a deadly shooting on Tuesday in La Marque was arrested Wednesday evening, after a tip led police to his location in Dickinson.

According to the La Marque Police Department, Dickinson police received information around 6 p.m. about a person matching the description of 18-year-old Keith Smith Jr. Officers responded and detained Smith until La Marque detectives arrived and confirmed his identity.

Smith was taken into custody and charged with murder. His bond has been set at $1 million.

La Marque police expressed gratitude to the community for providing information that helped locate the suspect, as well as to all assisting agencies involved in the case.

The department also commended its detectives and officers for their work and coordination in the investigation.
