LEAGUE CITY — Clear Horizons Early College and P-TECH High School in Clear Creek ISD has been named one of the Greater Houston region’s top-performing high schools in the 2024–2025 Houston School Rankings released by Children at Risk.

The school placed ninth among the top 10 high schools in the region. The ranking was announced November 10 during a press conference recognizing campuses with strong student achievement, year-to-year growth, and college readiness.

Principal April Tidwell said the recognition reflects the work of both staff and students. She added that community support and partnerships, including help from the Clear Creek Education Foundation, contribute to the school’s success.

Clear Horizons is a school of choice located on the San Jacinto College South campus. It serves students who are least likely to attend college or who want to accelerate their education by combining high school and college-level coursework. In Fall 2025, the campus expanded by adding a Healthcare Pathways in Technology (P-TECH) program.

Children at Risk’s statewide analysis reviewed more than 7,000 public schools. Rankings measure STAAR performance, comparisons to similar campuses, student growth, and—at the high school level—college readiness through graduation and participation in college-prep programs.
