Texas City is giving residents a chance to win big this holiday season with its Shop Local Bingo promotion. The grand prize includes free Whataburger for a year and more than $2,500 in gift cards and prizes from local businesses.

According to a press release; to play, participants can pick up a bingo card at City Hall, Moore Memorial Public Library, or Tanger Outlets, or download one online at www.shoplocalbingo.com. Shoppers must make purchases or dine locally and save their receipts to fill squares on the card. One receipt counts for one square.

Players who complete any row on the card will be entered to win special Texas City items, such as vintage-style shirts, disc golf sets, and tumblers. Completing the entire card enters participants for the grand prize.

All bingo cards must be returned to City Hall or Moore Memorial Public Library by Monday, Dec. 15. Winners will be notified on Tuesday, Dec. 16, and prizes will be presented during the Texas City Commission meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m.

The Shop Local Bingo card has five categories: retail, restaurant, Tanger Outlet, player’s choice, and social media. For the social media category, players can comment and tag local businesses on a designated post on the City of Texas City’s Facebook page starting Monday, Nov. 17.
