KEMAH – The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office says a man is in custody after a serious assault in Kemah led to a multi-agency response and an arrest warrant.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called on November 17 to Lazy Lane for a report of an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries. The Major Crimes Unit began investigating immediately and identified 39-year-old Cody Lynn as the suspect. An arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was issued with a $200,000 bond.
On November 18, the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, assisted by the Organized Crime Task Force and the Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search and arrest warrant at Lynn’s residence, the same location where the assault occurred. Lynn was taken into custody without incident.
During the operation, deputies also arrested 75-year-old Timothy O’Brien, who was found inside the home. O’Brien had an active felony warrant out of Harris County for DWI third or more.
The Sheriff’s Office said violent crimes will be fully investigated and those responsible will be held accountable.
