SANTA FE – Deputies in Galveston County attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant Thursday in Santa Fe, but the suspect is still on the run.

The sheriff’s office says the warrant was for 34-year-old Michael Mihailovich. He’s wanted by an out-of-county agency on charges including tampering with evidence, evading arrest in a vehicle, and resisting arrest.

When deputies arrived at a home in the 19000 block of Highway 6, a witness told them Mihailovich may have been hiding in the attic. Inside the home, investigators say they also saw narcotics paraphernalia in plain view, leading to a separate search warrant from the Organized Crime Task Force.

Because the suspect was believed to be barricaded, the SWAT team was brought in to clear the home safely. After a full search, deputies determined Mihailovich was not inside.
