A Galveston County Sheriff’s Office task force officer working with the DEA helped seize about 200 pounds of methamphetamine during an ongoing investigation, the sheriff’s office announced.

Officials say the seizure is a major hit to drug trafficking activity in the area. The sheriff’s office says it will continue working with federal partners to track down and stop groups involved in distributing dangerous drugs.

The investigation is still active, and no additional information is being released right now.
