BACLIFF — A Bacliff man has been arrested on additional child pornography charges following an ongoing investigation by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, working in partnership with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, say the case began after a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Detectives executed a search warrant on December 5, 2025, at a residence in the 3000 block of Demrod Street, where multiple electronic devices were seized for examination, authorities said.

As the investigation continued, detectives reported discovering additional evidence of child pornography on the seized devices. As a result, Arturo Manuel Perez, 34, was arrested again on Demrod Street and charged with possession of child pornography involving more than 50 visual depictions.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Justice of the Peace Greg Rikard issued the arrest warrant and ordered Perez held without bond.

The charge follows a prior arrest in the same investigation, in which Perez was charged with possession of visual material depicting the sexual assault of a child. He was previously booked on that charge with a $60,000 bond, officials said.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office stated it remains committed to protecting children and pursuing those who exploit them.
