Texas City Man Charged in Child Exploitation Investigation

TEXAS CITY – A man has been charged with a first-degree felony following a child exploitation investigation involving the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to La Marque Police Department.

Detective Shores, assigned to the ICAC task force, began investigating after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators identified a possible suspect believed to be living in Texas City.

On December 30, 2025, members of the LMPD Special Response Team executed a search warrant at the residence. During the search, Tony Martinez III was located and admitted to possessing child pornography, authorities said.

Martinez was charged with Possession of Lewd Visual Material Depicting Sexual Assault, a first-degree felony. His bond was set at $80,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.
