LEAGUE CITY — The Rogue Fencers Guild will host its annual spring fencing tournament on Saturday, February 7, beginning at 8 a.m. at 400 S. Kansas Avenue in League City.
The event is open to competitors with a USA Fencing Access Level membership or higher. Spectators are admitted free of charge.
Registration for competitors is $20, with an additional $20 event fee. Fees may be paid at the venue by cash, check, or card. Competitors can register online through USA Fencing.
The tournament will feature mixed epee events across multiple age divisions, including youth, senior, veteran, and blind fencing categories. Events are scheduled throughout the day, beginning with senior and Y12 mixed epee at 8 a.m., followed by additional youth divisions at midday and senior and veteran events in the afternoon.
Competition will follow a round-robin pool format, with all fencers advancing to direct elimination rounds. Direct elimination bouts will be fenced to 15 points, except for Y10 events, which will fence to 10 points. Y8 events will consist of two rounds of pool fencing with no elimination round.
USA Fencing equipment regulations will be enforced. Y8 competitors must use epees with blade lengths not exceeding 30.5 inches and will fence on shortened strips. Y10 competitors must use epees with blade lengths not exceeding 32.5 inches.
