SANTA FE – A 65-year-old man has been charged following a shooting that left another person critically injured in Santa Fe, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a reported shooting at approximately 5:06 p.m. on January 15 in the 4700 block of Singletary Road. Patrol deputies secured the scene while detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, including the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit, began processing evidence and conducting interviews.
The victim was transported to UTMB Clear Lake with injuries believed to be life-threatening. The victim’s identity has not been released as investigators work to notify next of kin.
Following the investigation and consultation with the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, Wade Calhoun, 65, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bond was set at $100,000, and Calhoun was booked into the Galveston County Jail.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Deputies are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
