TCISD – Students earned top recognition at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Contest, with several students receiving Best of Show, Gold Medal, and Special Merit awards across multiple grade levels.
The annual contest is one of the largest student art competitions in the region, drawing thousands of entries from schools across Texas. Awards recognize artistic skill, creativity, and technique.
At the high school level, Greyson Chapman, a freshman at Texas City High School, received Best of Show. Gold Medal awards were presented to Maia Turner, a senior at La Marque High School, and Hailey Bradberry, a junior at Texas City High School. Brian Vicente, a senior at Texas City High School, earned a Special Merit award.

In the junior high division, Perswataun Oakes, a seventh-grade student at Giles Middle School, received Best of Show. Linda Vega, also a seventh-grade student at Giles Middle School, earned a Gold Medal.
At the elementary level, Alexandria Ortiz, a fifth-grade student at Levi Fry Intermediate School, was awarded Best of Show.
District officials also recognized the teachers who supported the students throughout the process, including Stacy Flores, Joan Finn, Jenn Massie, Mandy Peyrani, and Lissa Beauchamp.
Texas City ISD administrators said the results reflect the strong visual arts programs across the district and the dedication of both students and educators.
The student artwork will be displayed as part of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo art exhibitions.
