LEAGUE CITY – The Clear Creek Environmental Foundation, a local nonprofit organization, will hold its annual waterway cleanup on February 28, marking 25 years of efforts to remove trash and debris from Clear Creek and Clear Lake.

The cleanup will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with volunteers meeting at the League City Boat Ramp along Highway 270, between FM 518 and NASA Road 1.

Mike Stone, President of the Foundation, says they are seeking volunteers with boats to assist in reaching debris in the waterways. The effort focuses on improving water quality and protecting local wildlife by removing litter from hard-to-access areas.

The foundation works in partnership with Keep League City Beautiful and has led cleanup efforts in the Clear Creek and Clear Lake areas for more than two decades.

Those interested in volunteering or providing a boat are encouraged to contact the Clear Creek Environmental Foundation at 281-830-3419 or visit the organization’s Facebook page for more information.

The event is open to the public, and community participation is encouraged.
