FRIENDSWOOD – Police recovered a stolen vehicle Saturday night, after a short pursuit ended at an apartment complex, where two juveniles were taken into custody.
According to a press release, Officers were alerted around 9:20 p.m. to a stolen vehicle near Friendswood Link Road and Laura Leigh Lane. Police located the vehicle nearby and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle entered the parking lot of the Edge at Clear Lake apartments in the 2300 block of West Bay Area Boulevard. Two occupants then ran from the vehicle into the complex, prompting officers and K-9 units to search the area.
Both suspects were located at a nearby apartment and identified as juveniles.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading in a vehicle against the juvenile driver. The juvenile passenger was charged with evading on foot.
Police said both juveniles’ parents were contacted and cooperated with investigators. The stolen vehicle was returned to its registered owner.
