COUNTYWIDE – Students are being invited to take part in Lemonade Day 2026, a youth entrepreneurship program designed to teach business and life skills through running a lemonade stand.
The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce and the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce are supporting this year’s program, which organizers say helps participants build confidence, communication skills, and financial literacy.
The season kicks off with the Step Up for Education Expo and Lemonade Day Galveston County Kickoff on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Weis Middle School, 7100 Stewart Road in Galveston. The event will include student performances, music, giveaways, lemonade, and complimentary hot dogs. Youth interested in participating can register at the event or online.
A second kickoff event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Perry Family YMCA, 1700 League City Parkway in League City. Families can pick up Lemonade Day materials and learn more about the program.
At both events, registered participants will receive backpacks, T-shirts, and access to the Lemonade Day curriculum, which covers goal setting, budgeting, customer service, and entrepreneurship.
“Lemonade Day is not just about lemonade; it’s about financial literacy, business skills, teamwork, social and emotional skills, goal setting and responsibility,” said Gina Spagnola, director of Lemonade Day Galveston County, in a statement.
Lemonade Day is open to youth ages 5 to 18. The official Lemonade Day Galveston County will be held Saturday, May 2, when participants set up lemonade stands across the area.
Additional events include a “Build a Stand, Spark a Dream” workshop and Best Tasting Lemonade Contest on April 18 in Galveston, and a Spirit Night Celebration for participants on May 7 at Schlitterbahn Galveston.
