LEAGUE CITY — Clear Creek ISD has crowned its newest District Spelling Bee champion. Walker English, a fifth-grade student at Armand Bayou Elementary, secured the title on Saturday, February 7, after 16 rounds of competition.

English clinched the win by correctly spelling the word “acetone.” Claire Li, a fourth-grader from Brookwood Elementary, finished as the runner-up.

Walker will advance to the 2026 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee at Houston Community College on March 28, where top finishers will move on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May.
