LEAGUE CITY — Mayor Nick Long joined a representative from Bay Area Turning Point to officially proclaim February as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, underscoring the importance of raising awareness and encouraging healthy, respectful relationships among teens.
According to Bay Area Turning Point, teen dating violence — which includes physical, sexual and emotional abuse — affects many young people before they reach adulthood. The proclamation highlights both prevention and support resources available for teens and families.

Bay Area Turning Point offers a comprehensive suite of services for individuals and families impacted by sexual and domestic violence, including a 24/7 crisis hotline at (281) 286-2525. Trained staff through the hotline provide crisis intervention and support, and serve as a gateway to other services such as shelter, advocacy, counseling, case management and outreach education.
Residents who need help or want more information can call the hotline or visit Bay Area Turning Point’s website for additional resources and support.
