LEAGUE CITY — Clear Creek ISD is expanding its dual credit program for high school students through new and enhanced partnerships with San Jacinto College and College of the Mainland. The programs allow students to earn college credit and industry-based certifications while still in high school.

The new offerings are available for consideration for the 2026-2027 school year, with the course selection process closing on February 18, 2026.

“This exciting expansion reflects our continued commitment to prepare students for life beyond graduation,” said Superintendent Dr. Karen Engle. “By continuing to strengthen our partnerships with San Jacinto College and College of the Mainland, we are providing Clear Creek ISD students with meaningful opportunities to explore high-demand careers, earn college credit and accelerate their future success.”

Eligible CCISD students can access a broader range of career and technical education (CTE) and academic dual credit courses aligned with high-demand industries and postsecondary programs. These courses allow students to gain real-world experience, explore career interests, and earn college credit hours ranging from two to four while simultaneously earning high school credit.

Examples of dual credit program offerings at College of the Mainland include Petrochemical Process Technology, Instrumentation and Electrical Technology, Welding Technology, and Culinary Arts. San Jacinto College offerings include Process Technology, Welding Technology, Maritime Transportation, Air Conditioning Technology, and Cosmetology.

CCISD encourages students who can provide their own transportation to explore these new dual credit options, which are offered on college campuses and designed to align with CCISD CTE programs. Students must meet CCISD dual credit requirements and complete the community college enrollment process, including any applicable placement or testing requirements.

The expanded programs enhance the district’s existing dual credit opportunities and reflect CCISD’s focus on providing a world-class education from Pre-K through career. More information is available at ccisd.net/career-college-planning.
