FRIENDSWOOD – The Friendswood Education Foundation (FEF) honored the legacy of Kimberly Montz during this year’s SurPrize Patrol by awarding a $2,329 Kimberly Montz Memorial Grant to Friendswood High School teacher Abigail Colbert. The grant supports the Health Science program through the Stitch to Success initiative.
According to a press release, the funding will provide students with hands-on suture practice kits, allowing them to develop real-world clinical skills while participating in career-focused learning experiences designed to prepare them for future opportunities in healthcare. The resources will help students build confidence and technical skills in a practical classroom setting.
Through the grant, students gain exposure to medical procedures and healthcare pathways, reinforcing FISD’s commitment to innovative, career-connected learning experiences that equip students for success beyond graduation.
The Friendswood Education Foundation expressed gratitude to the Montz family for their continued generosity in honoring Kimberly’s passion for education and her love for Friendswood ISD. Her legacy continues to impact classrooms and students across the district.
