FRIENDSWOOD – The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) received a $10,000 tribute gift from the Wren family in honor of Kiley and Pat Wren’s mother, Dr. Jean Wren. The donation will support FEF’s Educator Scholarship program, continuing Dr. Wren’s legacy of supporting future educators.

Dr. Wren dedicated her life to education, serving as a classroom teacher, principal, and district administrator. She helped launch FISD’s Community Education program in 1975 and later became Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, one of the first women in Texas to hold such a role.

Even after retiring in 1994, Dr. Wren remained active in education as a consultant and adjunct professor at several universities. She also contributed to programs through the Region 4 Education Service Center, helping develop reading initiatives supporting students across the seven-county region.

“On behalf of FEF, we feel humbled to be a part of honoring Dr. Wren’s legacy in such a meaningful way,” said FEF Executive Director Ashley Adair. The Wren family hopes their gift will inspire others to support educator scholarships and continuing education programs.
