TEXAS CITY – TCISD recently hosted its first districtwide spelling bee, bringing together campus winners from across the district.
Each campus serving grades 2 through 8 held a school-level competition. First- and second-place winners advanced to the district spelling bee, where 18 students competed. Participants represented every elementary campus, Fry Intermediate and both middle schools.

After multiple rounds of competition, the top three students were named. Noah from Roosevelt-Wilson Elementary School earned first place. Sophia from Hayley Elementary School placed second, and Kevin from Giles Middle School finished third.
As the district champion, Noah will advance to the next level of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
District officials said the event highlighted literacy and academic achievement across Texas City ISD campuses.
