DICKINSON – On Friday night around 9:20 p.m. in Kemah, authorities attempted to stop a vehicle on northbound Highway 146 in the 1800 block for having no headlights.

The driver, later identified as 38-year-old Jerome Rosalez of Webster, failed to stop and led officers on a chase down to NASA Road, performing a U-turn before heading south on Highway 146.

The pursuit ended in a crash at FM 517, and Rosalez was arrested for evading arrest and DWI. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, along with Dickinson and Kemah police, were involved in the incident.

Rosalez is being held on a bond exceeding $1 million, according to Chief Raymond Garivey.
