SURFSIDE – A 17-year-old Houston resident who was reported as a distressed swimmer Friday afternoon, was found dead Sunday morning, according to police.
Philip Hester, chief of police, said the teen was identified as Michael Sullivan.
Authorities received reports around 2 p.m. Friday of a distressed swimmer. In response, the United States Coast Guard launched boats and helicopters to search the area.
The search continued until nightfall Friday but crews were unable to locate the swimmer.
Sullivan’s body was found Sunday around 8 a.m., Hester said.
Officials did not release additional details.
