LA MARQUE — A local man has been arrested on two counts of sexual assault of a child following a months-long investigation by the La Marque Police Department.
According to police, detectives began investigating the case after receiving a report on March 7 regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child.
Investigators said evidence gathered during the investigation was presented to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, which accepted two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued with bonds totaling $160,000.
On June 2, officers executed the warrants at the residence of Marcus Gamble, who was taken into custody without incident.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact Detective Kelemen.
