Heat Is The Main Story This Holiday Weekend
If you are planning to celebrate the 4th of July outdoors this weekend, the heat will be the main thing to keep in mind. High pressure continues to dominate throughout the region with temperatures this weekend once again reaching the low 90s and heat indices averaging around 105°F. Locally higher heat index values are possible so it will be important to watch out for any heat advisories issued, especially if you have outdoor activities planned for the 4th.
As high pressure slightly strengthens, it can cause temperatures to push a few degrees higher than what we’ve seen earlier this week. The drier air could keep dewpoints down slightly, but don’t count on much relief as Southeast Texas summer heat can be dangerous to anyone when spending enough time outdoors. Do not forget to stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and check on your neighbors. Especially don’t forget to enjoy the holiday with friends and family! Have a great holiday weekend everyone!
