LA MARQUE — Police are investigating after a woman was shot while inside a La Marque home early Friday morning.

According to ABC13, the shooting happened at about 4:25 a.m. in the 200 block of Franlee Street. The La Marque Police Department said officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Initial information indicates she was shot three times.

La Marque Sgt. Nicole Galindo confirmed the details with KGTX 7.

Police said the woman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.

Investigators believe multiple rounds were fired from outside the residence into the home, striking the victim while she was inside.
