FRIENDSWOOD — A former employee of a Friendswood school has been arrested on a warrant charging him with continuous sexual abuse of a young child as police investigate allegations dating back several years.
Friendswood police took Lewis Stott, 32, of Seabrook, into custody around 6:16 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, on a Harris County warrant.
Police said the warrant stems from an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse that reportedly occurred while Stott worked at The Galloway School, located at 3200 W. Bay Area Blvd. in Friendswood, between 2020 and 2026.
According to the Friendswood Police Department, Stott held several positions at the school during his employment, including physical education teacher, substitute teacher, second-grade teacher and soccer club coach.
Because of Stott’s former position as an educator and his access to children, investigators said they believe there could be additional victims who have not come forward.
Police are encouraging parents and guardians whose children may have had contact with Stott to speak with their children. Anyone whose child discloses information or who has information that could assist investigators is asked to contact the Friendswood Police Department at 281-996-3300.
Following his arrest, Stott was transported to the Harris County Jail, where police said he was being processed and held without bond at the time of the department’s announcement.
Friendswood police said no additional information that could compromise the ongoing investigation or the privacy of potential victims would be released at this time.
