The Week At A Glance
- High pressure brings dangerously hot conditions through the week
- Rain chances are near zero
- Highs will be in the mid-to-upper 80s along the coast and low-to-mid 90s inland
- Possible frontal passage late week, but confidence is low
- Heat Advisories are not off the table just yet
Starting The Week
To start the week, expect highs in the mid-to-upper 80s along the coast and low-to-mid 90s inland, with heat indices reaching triple digits daily and getting up to the 105-107°F range by midweek. A Heat Advisory has not been issued yet due to forecast dew points in the 60s to low 70s keeping those heat indices just below the advisory criteria. That said, conditions will be watched as the week progresses and a Heat Advisory remains possible.
Midweek Into The Weekend
The pattern starts to slightly change as we get through midweek. High pressure will shift toward the Four Corners, which will bring the possibility of a frontal boundary pushing through later this week or into the weekend. The front looks to stall just short of Southeast Texas as of now, but it could reach far enough to bring some rain or storm chances to the region. Bottom Line
- The heat is not going anywhere
- Temperatures look to remain above average through the rest of the month
- The potential for a Heat Advisory will stay elevated heading through next week
Don’t forget to stay hydrated, wear light and loose fitting clothing, and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and check on your neighbors, the elderly, and young children throughout the week.
Have a great one!
