DICKINSON – A driver was hospitalized after a high-speed rollover crash in Dickinson early Tuesday morning.
Dickinson police say officers first observed the reckless driver around 2:49 a.m. in the 1800 block of East FM 517.
Police say the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed as officers turned around. Another officer near Interstate 45 and FM 517 observed it traveling more than 120 miles per hour.
As the officer attempted to catch up, police say the driver lost control, struck a curb and rolled the white sedan multiple times near FM 517 West and Kellner Road. The car’s engine separated from the vehicle during the crash.
The driver exited the wreckage and was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Police say no other vehicles were involved.
