GALVESTON – Firefighters responded to a structure fire at the corner of Q and 25th Street on Friday around 7:30pm, where two structures were involved and heavy fire was reported primarily on the exterior.

Galveston Battalion Chief William Roy said the first-arriving crew, Engine 1, made a quick attack on the fire and was able to knock it down.

Firefighters then conducted a primary search of the structures and found two people inside.

Roy said both people were ambulatory and were taken to an emergency room for observation.

The fire marshal’s office has been notified and will investigate the cause of the fire.

Mutual aid responded from various cities across Galveston County, including Santa Fe.

Roy said no cause has been determined at this time, and the fire remains under investigation.
