LEAGUE CITY — Clear Creek Independent School District Superintendent Karen Engle, Ed.D., will retire effective April 1, 2027, the CCISD Board of Trustees announced.
Engle will continue serving as superintendent through March 31, 2027, as the district prepares for the leadership transition.
Since becoming superintendent, Engle has focused on academic excellence, innovation and community engagement, according to the district.
“Serving the students, families, and employees of Clear Creek ISD has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” Engle said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside trustees, parents, staff, and community members to ensure our children experience a world-class education.”
The CCISD Board of Trustees expressed appreciation for Engle’s service.
“Dr. Engle has led with vision, compassion, and a deep commitment to providing students a world-class education,” Board President Jonathan Cottrell said. “Her contributions have positively impacted thousands of students and staff. We thank her for extraordinary service and wish her well in her retirement.”
The board will begin planning for the superintendent transition process and said it will provide updates on next steps and opportunities for stakeholder input.
Engle is scheduled to remain in the position through the end of March to work with district leadership and trustees on the transition.
