
TEXAS CITY — A 53-year-old woman was arrested Oct. 9 following a narcotics investigation conducted by the La Marque Police Department’s Criminal Suppression Unit, according to the department.
Police said members of the La Marque Police Department’s Special Response Team, a joint team with the Santa Fe Police Department, and the Texas City Police Department’s SWAT team executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of 5th Avenue North in Texas City.
During the search, officers located and detained Christine Barbin, 53. A search of the residence resulted in the discovery of crack cocaine, weighing devices, items used in the production of crack cocaine and packaging materials, according to police.
Barbin was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1, involving 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams.
She was booked into the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Jail, with bond set at $50,000.
The La Marque Police Department credited the Texas City Police Department and the Santa Fe Police Department for their collaboration and support during the investigation.
