TEXAS CITY — In partnership with Communities In Schools Galveston County, the Family Service Center — The Center for Mental Health & Wellbeing will host the third annual Back-to-School Bash on Friday, Aug. 1, at the College of the Mainland (COM) Conference Center. This event will last from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
COM released in a press release, to prepare kids of any age for their new, bright return to school, this community-oriented event will help local families by offering them backpacks, supplies and access to local wellness and support services. In the midst of this event, activities, raffle prizes and refreshments will be provided. This event is part of a continuous pursuit to grant every child around the Galveston County the necessary supplies needed for return to school.
“College of the Mainland is proud to open our doors to programs that uplift and empower the community we serve,” said Dr. Helen Castellanos Brewer, COM President. “Events like this represent more than a giveaway—they show what’s possible when we come to support students and families across Galveston County.”
For easy access to the COM Conference Center, traffic will be directed to Parking Lot C, accessible from Amburn Road (See map below).
