GALVESTON – A local man has been arrested, following an investigation into alleged online communication with a minor, according to the Galveston Police Department press release.
Police say the investigation began in January after officers received information that an adult male had allegedly exchanged explicit images with a minor.
Detectives later obtained images that had been shared with a 12-year-old through social media. In March, investigators secured a search warrant to examine the accounts involved in the case.
Through the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 34-year-old Alexander Todd, a Galveston resident, and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Officers executed that warrant on March 27 in the 2200 block of 27th Street, taking Todd into custody without incident.
Todd was booked into the Galveston County Jail on a charge of possession of child pornography involving fewer than 100 images or videos. His bond was set at $150,000.
