GALVESTON – The fourth annual Polar Plunge will take place Saturday, Jan. 31, at Lasker Park Community Pool in Galveston.
The event runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with the official plunge scheduled for 10:15 a.m. The pool and slide will stay open during the event for participants.
There will also be food, hot drinks, raffle prizes and photo opportunities with a polar bear.
Registration costs $30 per person and includes admission, unlimited slides into the pool and a long-sleeved T-shirt. People can register online or in person at Lasker Park Community Pool, 2016 43rd St.
The event is open to swimmers ages 5 and older. Participants are encouraged to bring their own towels.
Money raised from the Polar Plunge will support the Sea Turtles Swim Team and youth aquatics programs at the pool.
