LA MARQUE – Police are investigating a homicide that happened early Saturday morning in the 100 block of Oak Street, near the intersection of FM 1765.

Officers were dispatched around 2:45 a.m. after receiving a call about a shooting in the roadway. The victim was taken by La Marque EMS to UTMB in Galveston, where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and has not yet been identified. Investigators are working to determine who was responsible.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
