LEAGUE CITY – A new virtual learning option is coming next year through a partnership between the Clear Creek Independent School District and Texas Tech K‑12.

District officials announced the launch of the Clear Tech Virtual Program, a full-time, tuition-free online learning model set to begin in the 2026–27 school year.

According to the district, the program will allow students to complete asynchronous coursework aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards through Texas Tech K-12, a division of Texas Tech Online.

Superintendent Karen Engle said the partnership is designed to provide a rigorous academic option while still giving students access to in-person support and enrichment opportunities.

“This groundbreaking virtual education brings together two world-class educational institutions to offer students a rigorous academic program with the added benefits of in-person support and enrichment opportunities,” Engle said in a press release.

The district said the program is intended for students with demanding schedules such as competitive sports or club programs, homeschool families looking for a structured curriculum with flexible support, and families seeking a non-traditional school day.

Students enrolled in the program will complete coursework online while still having access to district-provided support services, technology tools and optional in-person clubs and activities.

Robert Bayard, superintendent for Texas Tech K-12, said the partnership aims to expand access to flexible learning options while maintaining strong academic standards.

The Clear Tech Virtual Program will be available to elementary, intermediate and high school students across Texas. High school courses will begin with a ninth-grade cohort, with additional grade levels expected to be added in the 2027–28 school year.

Cari Moye, principal of recruitment, investment and strategic partnerships for Texas Tech K-12, said the collaboration will build on the district’s reputation for offering new learning opportunities.

District officials said informational meetings for families will be held throughout March and April. Families interested in enrolling in the program are encouraged to apply by May 15.
