TEXAS CITY – A Texas City man was arrested Wednesday, following a child exploitation investigation led by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation began in February after authorities received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The case was led by a detective assigned to the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
On March 17, investigators executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 2800 block of FM 2004 in Texas City.
Authorities said detectives located the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Tanner Francis, during the execution of the warrant. Investigators also seized several electronic devices and approximately 4.7 grams of methamphetamine.
Francis was arrested and charged with possession with intent to promote child pornography and possession of visual material depicting sexual assault.
His bond was set at $200,000.
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Texas City, League City, Pearland, Dickinson, La Marque and Homeland Security Investigations.
