Texas City fugitive arrested in Houston on multiple felony warrants

TEXAS CITY – A man wanted on multiple felony warrants out of Texas City was arrested Tuesday in Houston, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the sheriff’s office Fugitive Apprehension Division located and arrested Jose Angel Ortiz-Ontiveroz at a residence in Houston around 3:20 p.m. on March 17.

Authorities said Ortiz-Ontiveroz was taken into custody without incident on two outstanding warrants issued by the Texas City Police Department.

The charges include online impersonation and possession of child pornography involving 50 or more depictions, both felony offenses. His bonds were set at $50,000 and $100,000, respectively.

Following his arrest, Ortiz-Ontiveroz was transported to the Galveston County Jail.

Officials said the Fugitive Apprehension Division continues working to locate and arrest individuals with outstanding felony warrants.
