GALVESTON – Fire crews responded to a residential structure fire Saturday night in Galveston.
According to Captain Weber, the fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Church Street. The two-story wood-frame structure was heavily involved on the second floor when crews arrived.
Firefighters responded with four engines, two aerial units, and two battalion chiefs. The structure was described as abandoned or vacant and had been boarded up.
The fire was brought under control within approximately 10 minutes. No injuries to firefighters or the public were reported.
