KEMAH — Construction has begun on Boardwalk Bay, a new water attraction expected to open at the Kemah Boardwalk early next year, according to an announcement from Landry’s Inc.
Company officials said the upcoming attraction will feature a pirate-inspired theme and include eight water rides designed for families and children.
Plans for the park also include a splash area for younger guests featuring smaller slides, spray features, water jets, interactive play equipment and a tipping bucket.
Kemah Boardwalk Chief Operating Officer Terry Turney said the attraction is intended to add another family-focused entertainment option for visitors to the area.
The project is being built at the former location of the Flying Dutchman restaurant near the Boardwalk Inn and Main Event Plaza.
