Texas City police seek information in fatal shooting investigation

TEXAS CITY — Texas City police are asking for the public’s help as detectives continue investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man earlier this month.

According to the Texas City Police Department, officers responded to a reported weapons offense around 10:54 p.m. on May 4 in the 8601 block of the Emmett F. Lowry Expressway.

When officers arrived, they found Prince Pratt, 19, of Texas City, suffering from gunshot wounds. Pratt was transported to a local hospital, where he later died, police said.

Investigators are now seeking witnesses or video footage from the area around the time of the shooting, including dash camera, doorbell or cellphone video.

Police said a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information related to the case.
