LEAGUE CITY – The Texas Department of Public Safety has opened a new driver license office in League City and is now accepting appointments at the facility located at 1202 State Highway 3.
The 12-counter office provides standard driver license services, though commercial driver license skills testing will continue to be handled at the Houston Southeast Mega Center, according to DPS.
“The Texas Department of Public Safety is proud to open this new driver license office in League City, which is helping us serve more Texans in the greater Houston area,” said DPS Driver License Division Chief Sheri Gipson.
State leaders said the office was funded through appropriations approved by the 87th Texas Legislature in 2021.
“As Texas continues to grow, ensuring the integrity of our driver license system and preventing fraud are more important than ever,” said State Sen. Mayes Middleton.
Texas House Appropriations Committee Chairman Greg Bonnen said the facility reflects the growth of the League City area and will provide residents with a more convenient option for driver license services.
DPS encouraged customers to use the agency’s official website to book appointments and noted that many Texans can renew, replace or update their driver license or ID card online without visiting an office.
