
GALVESTON — Voters have elected Sharon Lewis and Michael Niebuhr to the Galveston City Council following Saturday’s runoff election, completing the full seven-member governing body for the City of Galveston.
Lewis won the District 1 seat, while Niebuhr was elected to represent District 5, according to election results released after the June 15, 2026 runoff.
With the results finalized, the City of Galveston Council is now fully seated.
The council, which serves two-year terms without pay, includes the following members:
- Mayor: John Paul Listowski
- District 1: Sharon Lewis
- District 2: Jeffrey Taylor
- District 3: Bob Brown
- District 4: Alex Porretto
- District 5: Michael Niebuhr
- District 6: Jason Hardcastle
City officials thanked voters for participating in the election and expressed appreciation to all candidates who ran for office. The city said it looks forward to working with the newly seated council.
