La Marque Police Identify Suspect in Main Street Shooting, Seek Public’s Help

LA MARQUE — La Marque police have identified a suspect in a shooting that left a man injured at an apartment complex earlier this week and are asking for the public’s help locating him.

The shooting occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. on June 14 in the 1900 block of Main Street. Officers responding to the scene found a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, the La Marque Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division identified 37-year-old Eric Walker as the suspected shooter.

Police said Walker is wanted on an aggravated assault warrant with a bond set at $150,000.

As of Thursday, Walker had not been located.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about Walker’s whereabouts to contact the La Marque Police Department. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through La Marque Crime Stoppers. Police said tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.

Authorities previously stated they believed the shooting was an isolated incident and did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the public.
